Manipur to Open Cancer Hospital by Next March: N Biren Singh

IMPHAL: The state government of Manipur is concentrating in the field of healthcare in the state. In accordance with the same idea, the state is planning to open the under construction Cancer Special Hospital by the month of March.

The newly constructed project is located in the Porompat region of the capital city. And it is being done by the KARNIKOS. Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh went for a site inspection and he mentioned this project to be one of his dreams coming to reality.

The chief minister also mentioned that the state administration is looking forward to opening the doors for the citizens by the March of 2023. This project is expected to provide medical help as well as lessen the hardships of the people in the state who are suffering from different types of cancer. This will also help the large number of people suffering from the illness who are otherwise compelled to travel outside the state for proper diagnosis as well as treatment.

This super speciality hospital is being created with a Public Private Partnership model with KARNIKOS Healthcare ltd. It is an international organization working in this field. The Chief Minister also stressed on the need of completing this project on time. He also said that all government schemes in the medical sector can be availed in this medical facility.

He further added that the state government is planning to complete some more blocks and hand them over to the public before 2024. Initially the plans were to develop only single housing quarters in the complex. But now with an added loan from HUDCO, the new building facilities will include G+6 buildings that are now being constructed at the location. According to the chief minister, this new complex will solve a huge majority of the problems that the government employees have to face because of the lack of housing facilities.
